De-synchronizing positions and managers

When you create or update a position, you can automatically create a synchronized manager role where the Active, Short Description, and Description fields for both the position and manager role are synchronized and can be changed only on the position.

You can de-synchronize the position and manager code at any time.

Note: De-synchronizing a position and manager code does not remove the manager code from the Manager Structure nor does it remove the link between the position and manager code. The manager code can be given different values for the Active, Short Description, and Description fields than the position.
  1. Select Administrator > Set Up > Jobs And Positions > Positions.
  2. Open the position to update.
  3. Clear the check box for Create a manager code with the same description and active status.
  4. Select Save.
    You can change the manager code's Active, Short Description, and Description fields directly in the Manager Structure.
  5. Optionally, to no longer associate the position with the manager code, remove or change the value in the Position Is Manager field and click Save.
