Creating the EEA company

  1. Sign in as Administrator.
  2. Select Reports > Regulatory Reporting > Canada > EEA Canada > Set Up.
  3. On the EEA Company tab, click Create.
  4. Specify this information:
    EEA Company Number
    Specify the unique EEA company number assigned to your company. This number has been previously designated for your company by the Canadian government.
    EEA Company Name
    Specify the name of the company. This name cannot start with the word "The" nor with a number.
    Country
    Select the country in which the company is located.
    Job Country Attribute Category
    Select the attribute category for this report. This category is used to map the EEOC job categories for this company.
    Action Reason Used for Promotions
    Specify the action reason that is used to designate promotions. This entry is validated to ensure that the action reason exists.
    Location
    Specify the location.
    Active
    Select this check box if this is an active company.
  5. After you save the company, define the Industrial Sector.
    Industrial Sector
    Specify the identifier of the industrial sector.
    Sector Name
    Specify the name of the industrial sector.
    NAICS Code
    Specify the 4-digit NAICS code for the industrial sector.
    Eligibility Group
    Select the custom group from which employees are included for this report.
    Active
    Select this check box if this is an active industrial sector.
  6. On the Census Metropolitan Area tab, specify the CMA codes.
    Country
    Select the country for which you are defining a census metropolitan area.
    CMA Code
    Specify the code for this census metropolitan area. This code is a number from 1-8.
    Description
    Specify a description for the census metropolitan area.
    Active
    Select this check box if this is an active census metropolitan area.
  7. In the Location And Province Mapping section, map the census metropolitan area to the appropriate provinces.
    When you create a new mapping, the Country and CMA Code fields are populated. The content is based on the CMA Code that you highlighted in the Census Metropolitan Areas section. Select the appropriate province and then click Save. The numerical value for the province is added automatically.
  8. On the Employment Status Mapping tab, map Work Types to the appropriate Employment Status.
    Consider employees that are temporary or casual because these groups are included in a separate EEA report.
