Manager structure components

A manager structure is a tree-like hierarchy of manager roles. Each manager role has a system-assigned numeric code that is called the manager code or the manager. The name of the manager role can be changed but the identifier cannot be changed.

A manager role can be associated with a manager type. The manager type assigns a level to the manager role that is associated with it. You can set up an equivalence between manager roles. For example, a manager in one branch of the manager structure may be called a director in another branch. But if they are both associated with the manager type MANAGER, which has a level of 4, they are considered equivalent, regardless of their actual level in the structure. You can report on both roles by using the level as a criteria. Alternatively, can include both roles in a process flow by referring to the level rather than the role.
