Work assignments

Work assignments identify the positions that a resource holds, where the position is within the organization structure, and other specifics including the pay rate and manager structure.

To be included in the HR business processes, each resource must have at least one work assignment. A resource can have one or more work assignment.

One of the work assignments must be the primary assignment. The primary assignment is the work assignment that has priority when the resource has more than one work assignment. The manager assigned to the work assignment may have additional responsibilities for the resource.

A work assignment corresponds to a position. Depending on the position rules, the work assignment may inherit some of the position values and may or may not override those values. See Position field default rules.
