Creating position subcategories

Position subcategories further refine position categories. A position subcategory is always created within a position category.

  1. Select Administrator > Set Up > Jobs and Positions > Position Components > Categories.
  2. In the Position Categories section, highlight the position category for which to define a subcategory
  3. In the Position Sub Category section, click Create.
  4. Specify this information:
    Category

    Required. The position category defaults from the position category that you selected.

    Effective Date

    Required. Specify the effective date.

    Sub Category

    Required. Specify the name of the position subcategory.

    Description

    Specify a description. If you leave this field blank, the position subcategory name defaults as the description.

    Active

    Select this check box to make the position subcategory active. The position subcategory is active by default. Clear the check box to inactivate it.

  5. Click Save.
