Updating marital status

The Life Events menu is available if it has been configured by an administrator.

  1. Select Benefits > Life Events.
  2. Select Marriage, Divorce, or Legal Separation.
  3. Specify the date of the event.
  4. If you changed your name as the result of the change in marital status, specify your new last and first name, and your former last and first name.
  5. Attach a supporting document and add comments.

    This field may not be displayed, depending on your organization's configuration.

  6. Click OK.

    If your organization does not require approval, your marital status and name are changed immediately on your profile.

    If your organization requires approval, your changes are not displayed immediately on your profile. They show on the Pending tab of Life Events.

    Other links are displayed to prompt you to make associated changes such as to your dependents or emergency contacts.

    You can change the information on the form until the request is approved, or you can cancel your request. When the request is approved, the changed marital status and name are displayed in your profile.

    For each type of marital status change, you can have one pending request at any given time.
