Accepting and performing transition tasks

  1. Select To Do > Transition Management.
  2. On the Assigned Tasks tab, view your assigned and queued tasks.

A task is displayed on the lists if you are assigned to the task group. A transition-management process that includes the task must have been started for a resource.

    • All assigned tasks with no prerequisites are displayed on Assigned Tasks.

    • All unassigned tasks with no prerequisites are displayed on Queued Tasks.

    • Tasks that have prerequisites are displayed on Assigned Tasks or Queued Tasks only after their prerequisite tasks have been completed. Before then, they are displayed on the All Tasks tab after the transition-management process is triggered.

  3. To assign an unassigned task to yourself, select the task on Queued Tasks and select Actions > Accept.

The task is moved from Queued Tasks to Assigned Tasks.

After you assign yourself to a task, the task is no longer displayed to the other employees. You are committed to completing the task.

  4. To view any instructions associated with the task, open the task.
  5. Perform the tasks that are involved in the transition task.
For example, if the task is to procure a computer for a new hire, perform all the tasks involved from ordering a computer to loading any required software.
  6. When you consider the task complete, change the status of the task to Complete.
