Assigning in-budget development activities to resources

Note: Not applicable if you are using Infor Learning Management.

Depending on your organization's processes, development activities can be requested by resources or assigned to resources by managers, mentors, and/or learning managers. Learning managers see and approve all the development activities that have been assigned by everyone.

Note: You can also assign development activities from a budget detail and from the Activities tab of a resource on Development Planning > Resources > Resource Activities.
  1. Select Development Planning > Learning Budgets > Prepare Budgets.
  2. On the Requests tab, click Actions > Assign Activity.
  3. On the Assign Activity form, specify this information:
    Employment ID

Required. Select the employment ID of the resource to which to assign a development activity.

    Activity

Required. Select the development activity to assign.

    Start Date

Required. Specify the start date for the development activity.

    Due Date

Required. Specify the due date for the development activity. It must a date in the future and later than the start date.

    Session

If you select a session, do not select the Register For First Available Session or Allow Resource to Select Session. One of the options must be selected unless the activity does not use sessions.

The session is saved on the resource development activity record as a preferred session. When the activity is approved, registration will be confirmed or wait listed depending on availability and the organization learning rules. If the session is full and does not allow wait listing, the activity is assigned with a status of Needs Registration.

Note: If a resource already is already assigned to the same activity with this same session (in confirmed, requested, wait listed, failed to complete, or complete status), you are not allowed to register for this session. You can register for a different session.
    Register For First Available Session

If you select this option, do not select a session or the Allow Resource to Select Session option.

The resource development activity is in Requested Activity status with this option saved for the resource. When the activity request is approved for the resource, registration will be confirmed if a session is still available. If the session is full and does not allow wait listing, the activity is assigned with a status of Needs Registration.

Note: If a resource is already assigned to the same activity and has a session registration status of confirmed, requested, wait listed, failed to complete, or complete, the activity is assigned with a status of Needs Registration. You will then have to resolve the duplication manually.
    Allow Resource To Select Session

If you select this option, do not select a session or the Register For First Available Session option.

When the development activity is approved, the activity is assigned with a status of Needs Registration.
