Non-checklist development activity process (learning budgets - no interface to Infor Learning Management)

It is assumed that setup activities have been completed.

Assignment and registration process

If your organization selected to use budgets only for French resources, this process is valid only for French resources. Non-French resources will use the process described in Non-checklist development activity process (no learning budgets - no interface to Infor Learning Management).

Role Tasks Location
Learning manager Calculates learning budgets; optionally releases distributed budgets to managers.

Employee
  1. Locates an activity in the catalog.

  2. Requests activity from the catalog or development plan.

Manager or mentor
  1. Locates an activity in the catalog.

  2. Assign an activity.

    If activity request is initiated by the employee, can cancel the resource activity request.

Mentor > My Mentees > Assign Activity

Mentors > My Mentees then select employee to open the employee development plan (Activities tab)

Manager If manager budget exists, completes budget when all activities for development period have been assigned. Manager > Develop Employees > Learning Budget Analysis
Learning manager
  • Reviews submitted requests, may reject some.

  • Associates accepted requests with a budget and period.

  • Reviews defaulted estimated costs; may modify them

Development Planning > Learning Budgets > Prepare Budgets
Learning manager When a budget is complete (development activities for the budget have been accepted), finalizes the budget Development Planning > Learning Budgets > Finalize Budgets
System (automated) Automatically approves all development requests that are part of a finalized budget.
Employee
  • If the development activity has no session, no further action is needed. The employee can start the activity at any time outside of Development Planning.

  • If the development activity has sessions, registers for a session.

Manager or mentor
  • If employee registered for a session and approval is required, approves (or rejects) registration

  • Can register the employee for a session. No approval is needed.

Learning manager

For activities that have sessions:

  • Tracks the status of approved activities and registrations.

  • Manages wait-listed registrations (if applicable)

  • Tracks attendance

  • (French users only) Tracks outside of work hours

  • Receives and processes out-of-plan activity requests.

  • Monitors budgets.

Employee, manager, or mentor
  • Can view the status of the activity and (if applicable) the registration in the employee's development plan.

  • Employee can withdraw from non-required activities, as well as withdraw a confirmed or wait-listed registration

  • Manager or mentor can cancel a non-required activity, waive a required activity, and cancel a confirmed or wait-listed registration.

Employee, manager, or mentor If needed can reverse an "Activity Is Finished" status to an "Activity Is Not Finished" status.

Learning manager

Completes (or fails to complete) finished activities.

Note: 

The activity does not have to be tagged as "Finished" for the learning manager to complete it.

Development Planning > Registrations And Completion > Attendance And Completion
System (automated)

For completed activities, updates the employee talent profile with the skill, competency, or credential outcomes defined for the development activity.

For required activities that fail to complete, returns the status to Needs Registration

For completed activities and non-required activities that fail to complete, moves the record to Historical Activities.

Learning manager Enters actual costs
