Actual hours outside of work and the amount paid for these hours must be reported on the 2483 report.

  • Define the cost types to use for hours outside of work.

  • Define standard costs that use these cost types. You can use any types of standard costs. The Unit of Measure – Other Unit field must be set to Hours.

  • When resources, managers, mentors, or learning managers specify a DIF request, they can specify an estimated number of hours outside of work. If they do not specify it, the number of hours for the activity defaults.

  • When resource activity costs are created, If a development standard cost has a cost type that is marked as ‘Use For Hours Outside Work," the resource development activity cost uses the ‘Estimated Hours Outside of Work’ from the DIF activity request as the estimated number of units.

  • When the resource completes the DIF activity, the learning manager records the actual hours outside of work. The system updates all the standard costs associated with a cost type flagged to "Use For Hours Outside Of Work" with the same number of units.

  • When the learning manager calculates actual costs, the actual costs for hours outside of work standard costs are calculated based on the actual hours outside of work. The other actual standard costs are calculated in the usual way.
