Defining and maintaining development activity duration units

A development activity duration unit is used to express how long a session lasts (for example Days, Weeks Months, Years, and so on). The administrator specifies the actual number on the activity or session and selects the duration. For example, 2 Weeks. Duration units are also used when defining certain types of standard costs.

  1. Select Development Planning > Set Up > Activity Components > Duration Units.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Effective Date

    Required. Specify the effective date.

    Duration Unit

    Required. Specify the name of the development activity duration unit.

    Description

    Specify the description of the development activity duration unit. If left blank, the duration unit name defaults.

    Active

    Select the Active check box to make the development activity duration unit active. Inactive development activity duration units do not appear in lists.

  4. Click Save.
    Maintaining development activity duration units:
    • To update a development activity duration unit, open the development duration unit, update any of the fields, select an effective date, and save.

    • To delete a development activity duration unit, open the development activity duration unit, specify an effective date, click Delete, and click Yes to confirm.
