Personal development balances

You can allocate a specific number of hours for resources' personal development and track those hours.

In France, there are specific legal requirements for tracking personal development balances. The personal development balances feature is designed to meet the needs of French customers, but it is not a localized feature. French organizations have a deeper functionality which is unique to their needs.

Note:  Development Planning tracks only hour balances.

If your organization does not use French localization, you can:

  • Initialize initial balances.

  • Add or deduct hours for all resources or for resources that belong to a custom group.

  • Add or deduct hours for a specific resource.

  • Enforce a maximum balance.

Note: If you specify a maximum balance and alert threshold for the organization, a yellow alert displays when the threshold is reached, and a red alert displays when the balance is over the maximum.

(French localization only) Organizations that are configured for French localization have access to the previously described functionality. For resources with work assignments that have a French location, they can automate the balance update process in this way:

Note: Not applicable to Infor Learning Management activities.
  • Resources submit DIF activity requests for all of their personal development activities.

  • When a resource completes a DIF activity, the resource's personal development balance is automatically deducted by the number of validated attendance hours for that activity.

  • The learning manager can monitor requested, approved, and completed DIF activity requests.

Other functionality

  • Resources can view their personal development balances and the balance history on Employee > My Development > Development Plan.

In addition, French resources can view their projected (requested or approved) DIF activity requests and their historical (complete, incomplete, canceled, withdrawn, or rejected) DIF activity requests.

  • Managers can view their direct reports' personal development balances and the balance history on Manager > Develop Employee > Development Plans.

Managers can view their French resources' projected DIF activity requests (requested or approved) and their historical DIF activity requests (complete, incomplete, canceled, withdrawn, or rejected).
