Waiving resource checklist components

If a resource has already fulfilled the requirements of a checklist component by other methods or in another location, you can waive the checklist component. For example, a resource may have transferred from another position where the same skill or competency was required and validated.

You can waive resource checklist components in any status except Complete. You can also revert a waived component to its previous status.

Note: Managers and mentors can also waive checklist components, if the checklist components are defined to allow them to validate (and waive). Only learning managers and administrators can revert waived checklist components.
  1. Select Development Planning > Development Tasks or Administrator > To Do > Development Tasks.
Note: You can also access a checklist component on Development Planning > Checklists > Monitoring. You can either locate the component on the Development Tasks tab or open the checklist that the component belongs to on the Resource Checklists tab.
  2. Locate and select the specific resource component to waive.
  3. Select Actions > Waive.
  4. Specify this information.
    Reason

Required. Select the reason code. The reason code must be defined with a subject of HCMEmployeeLearningStopped.

    Comment

    If applicable, specify additional information.

  5. Click OK.

The resource component is removed from the Development Tasks list and can be viewed only by opening the checklist that it belongs to on Development Planning > Checklists > Monitoring or on the Checklists tab of the resource's development plan.

If the checklist component is a development activity, it can also be viewed on the Activity History tab on Development Planning > Resources > Resource Activities, but it can only be reverted from the resource checklist.

Note: Non-checklist activities that are waived or cancelled cannot be reverted.
