It is assumed that setup activities have been completed.

Assignment and registration process

  1. Locates an activity in the catalog.

  2. Requests activity from the catalog or development plan.

  3. If activity includes sessions, select a session.

Manager or mentor
  1. Locate an activity in the catalog.

  2. Assign an activity.

  3. If activity includes sessions, select a session.

    or

    Register later.

  4. If resource-initiated registrations require approvals, approves (or rejects) the registration.

Manager > Develop Employees > Development Plans then select employee to open the employee development plan (Activities tab)

Mentor > My Mentees > Assign Activity

or

Mentors > My Mentees then select employee to open the employee development plan (Activities tab)

System (automated)
  • If the activity has no session, the activity is automatically approved.

  • If the activity has sessions and the selected session has available space, the activity is approved and the session registration is confirmed.

  • If the organization learning rules allow wait-listing, and the requested session is full, the activity is approved and the registration is wait-listed.

  • If the requested session is full and wait-listing is not allowed, the activity and registration are rejected and the employee or manager can reapply for a different session.

  • If notifications are defined, registration-related notifications are sent automatically.

Learning manager

For activities that have sessions:

  • Manages wait-listed registrations (if applicable)

  • Tracks participation.

Employee, manager, or mentor
  • Can view the status of the activity and (if applicable) the registration in the employee's development plan or on their Development Tasks list.

  • Employee can withdraw from non-required activities, as well as withdraw a confirmed or wait-listed registration

  • Manager or mentor can cancel a non-required activity, waive a required activity, and cancel a confirmed or wait-listed registration.

Completes (or fails to complete) finished activities.

Note: 

The activity does not have to be tagged as "Finished" for the learning manager to complete it.

System (automated)

For completed activities, updates the employee talent profile with the skill, competency, or credential outcomes defined for the development activity.

For required activities that fail to complete, returns the status to Needs Registration

For completed activities and non-required activities that fail to complete, moves the record to Historical Activities.
