Global components setup

Development Planning uses these components that must be set up in Administrator > Set Up by a user with administrator privileges. The exception is custom groups, which can also be set up by the learning manager in Development Planning > Set Up. They are included here because custom groups are global and can be used by any Development Planning application.

  • Resources: All development activities are associated with a resource. Instructors must also exist as resources in Infor HR Talent. For information on defining resources, see the Infor HR Talent User Guide.

  • Currency: Standard costs and budgets are associated with a currency. For information on defining currency, see the Infor HR Talent User Guide.

  • Action reasons: These Development Planning actions can be associated with an action reason:

    • Suggesting a development activity for the catalog.

    • Rejecting, withdrawing, or cancelling a resource's development activity.

Note: Applicable only to activities defined in Development Planning.
    • Cancelling a provider contract.

Note: Not applicable if you are using Infor Learning Management.
    • Cancelling a session.

Note: Not applicable if you are using Infor Learning Management.
  • Eligibility groups (also called custom groups) are used for checklist mass assignments, activity mass assignments, mentor mass assignment, and personal development hours updates. Also used for budget calculations (if learning budgets are used), and to control which employees will have records in Infor Learning Management (if Infor Learning Management is enabled).

Custom groups are defined in Development Planning > Set Up > Custom Groups.

  • Locations: Locations are used for session locations.

Note: Not applicable if you are using Infor Learning Management.
  • Competencies, skills, and credentials: Development activities can be defined to have competencies, skills, or credentials as outcomes. Checklists can have skill and competency components.

Competencies, skills, and credentials also require rating levels and qualification sources to be defined.

  • Organization configuration for localizations: For example, France Localization must be configured to display Development Planning fields that are specific to France (such as 2483 and DIF related fields).

  • Professional categories (if used, and if learning budgets are used): Standard costs can be based on a professional category learning rate.

Note: Not applicable if you are using Infor Learning Management.
  • Document logos: To use a company logo on a printable document, you must upload the logo on Administrator > Set Up > Document Logos.
