Matching internal positions to survey provider positions

You can match a survey provider position to multiple internal positions, internal jobs, or combinations of an internal position and an internal job.

A specific internal position, internal job, or combination of an internal position and an internal job can be matched once to a survey provider position.

For example, the COMPADATA-2010 survey provider has two positions: VP and SENIOR EXEC.

You could match two internal positions, OPERATIONS VP and DEVELOPMENT VP, to the VP survey provider position. You could not match OPERATIONS VP to both VP and SENIOR EXEC.

  1. Select Compensation > Set Up > Market Survey Providers.
  2. Open the survey provider record for which to match positions.
  3. On the Positions tab, open the survey provider position to match.
  4. On the Position Matching tab, click Create.
  5. Specify this information:
    Job

A job or a position is required. You can select a job only, a position only, or a job and a position. If you select a job, then all positions that are associated with the job are matched. If you select a job and position, then the position does not have to be associated with the job.

    Position

A job or a position is required. You can select a job only, a position only, or a job and a position. If you select a job, then all positions that are associated with the job are matched. If you select a job and position, then the position does not have to be associated with the job.

    Quality of Match

Specify the quality of match between the survey provider position and the job or position. This is an alphanumeric field. You can specify a match percentage (for example, 90%), or a match description (for example, less, equal, or greater), or a degree of math indicator (for example, +, = , or -).
