Defining collective agreements

  1. Select Compensation > Set Up > Collective Agreements > Collective Agreements.
  2. On the Collective Agreement panel, click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Collective Agreement

    Required. Specify a name and description for the collective agreement.

    Version Date

    Required. Specify a version date for the collective agreement.

    Pay Rate Type

    Required. Select whether the pay rate type is an hourly rate, annual salary, or monthly salary.

    Active

    Select the check box if the collective agreement is active.

    Currency

    Select a currency for the agreement.

    Rounding Method

    Select the rounding method to use.

    If you select Normal, the number will round up if the last digit is 5 or more. It will round down if the last digit is less than 5.

    If you select High, the number will round up.

    If you select Low, the number will round down.

    Round To

    Specify the rounding precision (for example, 0.01).

  4. Click Save.

    The Collective Agreements Categories tab displays

  5. Assign a population category to the collective agreement.
    1. On the Collective Agreements Categories tab, click Create.
    2. Select a population category and click Save.

      The Position Coefficient and Minimums tab displays.

  6. Specify position/level and coefficient/index to the population category.
    1. Click Create.
    2. On the Position Coefficient and Minimums tab, specify this information:
      Note: 

      Position/Level, Collective Agreement Step, and Coefficient/Index are values that are determined outside Compensation. Compensation analysts should know which values to specify by virtue of the environment in which their organization operates.

      Position/Level

      Specify the value that represents the position/level.

      Collective Agreement Step

      Specify a step.

      Coefficient/Index

      Specify the numeric value (based on position/level) that is used by the government to determine if a worker is receiving the minimum pay rate .

      Convention Minimum

      Specify the convention's position minimum.

      Convention Midpoint

      Specify the convention's position midpoint.

      Convention Maximum

      Specify the convention's position maximum.

      Organization Minimum

      If your organization uses amounts that are higher than the convention, specify the organization's minimum here.

      Organization Midpoint

      If your organization uses amounts that are higher than the convention, specify the organization's midpoint here.

      Organization Maximum

      If your organization uses amounts that are higher than the convention, specify the organization's maximum here.

    3. Click Save.
    Note: 

    Your organization must be configured to use collective agreements for the collective agreement fields to display on work assignments.
