Viewing and exporting incumbent salary survey data

Use the Incumbent Salary Survey Export Template to view, filter, and export the incumbent salary information in a format that you can submit to a survey provider.

Before you start, you must run the Create Market Survey Data action to display incumbent data.

  1. Select Compensation > Reports > Market Survey Reports > Incumbent Export Template.
  2. On the Incumbent Salary Survey Export Template form, select the survey provider for which to display incumbent (employee) data.

This incumbent data is displayed for each survey provider position.

    Note:

Place your cursor over a column heading to view the full column name.

You can display these additional fields by modifying the list:

    YearOfHire

The incumbent's year of hire, derived from the selection you made on the Create Incumbent Report action. For example, if you selected Start Date, then the year that displays is the year shown in the Start Date field on the incumbent's resource record.

    ReportToPosition

The position code of the position to which the incumbent reports.

    ReportToPositionShort Description

The position short description of the position to which the incumbent reports.

    YearEnteredIntoPosition

The year in which the incumbent started in the position reported.

  3. Customize the data to meet your requirements.
    • Because there are many fields that make it difficult to read the data, you may want to remove unnecessary fields. For example, you may not want to provide employee names to survey providers, or you may never use special incentives or equity. You could add the Year Of Hire as a field.

Select Options > Modify List to modify the fields that display.

      Note:

If you require different fields for different survey providers, you can create versions of the list in your Favorites folder so they can be kept separate.

    • You can use the Filter feature to display a subset of the list. For example, if you want to create separate reports for Annual, Monthly, and Hourly employees, you can filter on the Pay Rate Type field, and export the resulting list to a CSV file. If your report has multiple currencies, you may also want to filter by currency.

  4. To export the list (or a subset of the list) to a CSV format, select Options > Export To CSV.

Save the file to your machine in .csv format, renaming it to include the name of the survey provider, and the type of report (for example, COMPDATA2010IncumbentHourlyData.csv).

You can still manipulate the list in CSV format (remove columns, move columns around, and so on).

  5. Submit the report to the survey provider.
    Note:

You can adjust the CSV file to fit the format required by the survey provider. This is done outside of Infor HR Talent.
