Defining compensation email templates and notifications

Compensation analysts and administrators can define an email template to send a notification for a compensation action.

To include multiple email addresses in a field, separate the email addresses with a comma.

When defining email templates, users have the option to use text variables.

  1. Select Compensation > Set Up > Compensation Planning > Email Templates.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Compensation Awarding Email Template
    Specify the name for the template.
    Description
    Specify a description for the template.
    Active
    The email template is active by default. Clear the check box to inactivate it.
    Preferred Email Language
    Optionally, select the language that the email is translated to for the recipients. If you leave this field blank, the organization's base language is used. This field appears only if Dynamic Embedded translation (DET) is used.
    To
    Specify the email address of the recipient.
    CC
    Optionally, specify the cc recipients of the email.
    BCC
    Optionally, specify the bcc recipients of the email.
    From
    Specify the email address of the sender.
    Subject
    Optionally, type the subject of the notification.
    Body
    Specify the text of the email. This is a Rich Text field that you can use to format the text.
  4. Click Save.
  5. To set up email automation, select Compensation > Set Up > Compensation Planning > Configurations.
    Different options are displayed if roll up approval has been enabled. The option for Finalize And Make Available To Manager is displayed if roll up approval has been enabled or disabled.
  6. Specify this information:
    Email Rule
    To send an automatic email for an action, select Automatic Email. The default is No Email.
    Email Template
    If you selected Automatic Email for an action in the Email Rule column, select a template.
  7. Click Save.
