High-level view of the bonus objective process

This table shows a high-level view of bonus objectives:

Compensation analyst Creates the compensation program with bonus objectives pay components
Enrolls resources into the compensation program.
Creates bonus periods, unless they are created automatically.
Employee's manager or employee* Adds bonus objectives to the resource's bonus period.
Employee's manager* Approves employee-initiated bonus objectives.
Employee* Approves manager-initiated bonus objectives.
Employee's manager or employee Indicates that the bonus objective is complete.
Employee's manager Approves the bonus for payout.
Compensation analyst Performs the payout.

* The Bonus Objective Initiation field value on the Bonus Objective pay component determines who can create bonus objectives. This can be the employee's manager alone, the employee alone, or both the employee's manager and the employee. If a role initiates the bonus objectives, then the other role approves the bonus objectives.
