Creating mass pay rate changes

Use this procedure to update a pay rate by a percent, flat amount or a new pay rate based on an effective date. You can define eligibility criteria (for example, groups, specific positions/jobs, organization unit, and so on) to determine which employees are updated.

  1. Select Compensation > Pay Rate Processing > Mass Pay Rate > Change Pay Rates.
  2. Specify this information:
    Effective Date

    Required. Select the date when the changes take effect.

    Update Option

    Required. Select whether to model the changes or update the work assignment. If you select Model Changes, you can review the pending records and then select the action to update the work assignment with the new pay rate.

    Percent or Amount

    Specify either a percent, an amount, or a new pay rate.

    New Pay Rate

    Specify either a percent, an amount, or a new pay rate.

    Rounding Method

    If you selected a percent, select the rounding method to use.

    If you select Normal, the number will round up if the last digit is 5 or more. It will round down if the last digit is less than 5.

    If you select High, the number will round up.

    If you select Low, the number will round down.

    Action Reason

    Select a reason code that indicates why the pay rate was changed.

    Eligibility Group

    Select an eligibility group or an employment ID range or other criteria to indicate the resources for the mass pay rate change. You can add additional criteria in the Other Criteria region.

    Employment ID Range

    Select an eligibility group or an employment ID range or other criteria to indicate the resources for the mass pay rate change. You can add additional criteria in the Other Criteria region.

    Position

    Select additional criteria for the pay rate change. If you selected an eligibility group or employment ID range, leave this field blank.

    Job

    Select additional criteria for the pay rate change. If you selected an eligibility group or employment ID range, leave this field blank.

    Organization Unit

    Select additional criteria for the pay rate change. If you selected an eligibility group or employment ID range, leave this field blank.

    Location

    Select additional criteria for the pay rate change. If you selected an eligibility group or employment ID range, leave this field blank.

    Union

    Select additional criteria for the pay rate change. If you selected an eligibility group or employment ID range, leave this field blank.

    Manager

    Select additional criteria for the pay rate change. If you selected an eligibility group or employment ID range, leave this field blank.

    Pay Rate Type

    Select additional criteria for the pay rate change. If you selected an eligibility group or employment ID range, leave this field blank.

  3. Click OK to run the action immediately.

    or

    Click the Schedule button to tun the action at a later time.

    If you selected Model Changes in the Update Option field, the changes will go into a pending status. If you selected Update Work Assignment in the Update Option field, the work assignment will be updated on the effective date you specified.
