Reversing approved awards (Compensation Analyst or Administrator)

Use this action to reverse focal and anniversary awards that are in Approved status.

If the awards to reverse include finalized bonus, lump sum, or equity awards, then revert these awards to Pending status before completing this action.

  1. Select Compensation > Awarding > Awarding Process > Manager Awarding Views.
  2. With the filter enabled, select Approved on the Approval Status column to display only Approved awards.
  3. Open the award to reverse.
  4. For focal awards, select All Actions > Reverse Approval.

    For anniversary awards, right-click the individual award and select Reverse Approval.

  5. Proceed depending on the message that displays:
    • If the awarding view has salary awards, then a warning is displayed that salary awards cannot be reversed if they have been updated to work assignments. Proceed with caution. Click Yes to complete the action or No to cancel.

    • If the awarding view has finalized bonus, equity, or lump sum awards, then you cannot complete this action because the awards have been finalized. You must revert these awards to Pending status, then run this action again.

      1. Select Compensation > Awarding > Awards > Lump Sum Payouts (or Bonus Payouts or Equity Grants).
      2. Click the Finalized tab.
      3. Select the awards that must be reversed and select Actions > Revert To Pending.
      4. Return to the awarding view and select Reverse Approval again. Click Yes to complete the action.
  6. After you run the Reverse Approval action, verify the status of the awards.
    • All of the pending awards are deleted from the Pending lists.

    • The awarding view is returned to Draft status. Individual employee awards remain as they were before the awards were submitted.

    • The budget owner or the compensation analyst can review and modify the awards and resubmit them.
