Changing Action Configuration parameters

Async actions can be mapped to run in custom Async queues and the number of threads can be assigned for multi-threaded processes to improve processing efficiency.

  1. Select Administrator > Utilities > Action Configuration > Action Configuration.
  2. Select a value and specify the action that you want to configure.
  3. Click Search.
  4. To change the Async Queue for one or more Action Configuration records, select the records.
  5. Select Change Async Queue.
  6. Specify the queue name and click Submit.
  7. To change the number of threads for one or more Action Configuration records, select the records from the list of configurable actions.
  8. Select Change Number Of Threads.
Number Of Threads defines the level of multi-threading or concurrent processing that can be performed by that action.
    • Setting the number of threads to a value that exceeds the Max Active Actions of the action’s mapped queue has no performance benefit. See Changing Async queue parameters.
    • The number of threads can be specified for each multi-threaded action when the Action Configuration feature is disabled. While Action Configuration is disabled, the effective number of threads is determined from HCM_RunGroups and HCM_Payroll_RunGroups.
Note: When the parameters have been changed from the delivered values, a blue information icon is displayed.
  9. Specify the value and click Submit.
