Creating the proxy definition

  1. Select Start > Proxy Management.
  2. Select Proxy Definition.
  3. Click New.
  4. Specify this information to create the proxy definition:
    Grantor
    Select your actor or another actor to grant a proxy role. This is the actor that can grant proxy capabilities to another user.
    Proxy name
    Specify an identifier for this proxy definition.
    Description
    Specify a description for this proxy definition. This description can be used to explain why this proxy is being created.
    From Date
    Optionally, select the beginning of the date range for which this proxy definition is active.
    To Date
    Optionally, select the ending of the date range for which this proxy definition is active.
    Is Enabled
    Select this check box to enable the proxy definition. You must select this check box to set the proxy definition to effective. If this check box is not selected, then the proxy definition is not valid. It is not valid even if the date ranges are valid, or if all other information in the proxy set up is correct.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Use the Proxy Roles tab to add roles to this proxy definition:
    1. Click New.
    2. Select the role that you want to assign to the actor and click Select. This list contains only those proxyable roles currently assigned to the Grantor. Click Ok.
    3. Click save and close Proxy Role.
  7. Use the Proxy Granted To Actors tab to add actors to this proxy definition:
    1. Click New.
    2. Select the actor to act as a proxy and click Select.
    3. Click Save.
