Assigning the actor to an organization unit

You must perform these steps in the HCM data area.

This procedure creates or replaces access for any actor and organization unit. To ensure that existing access is overridden, use the override action. To ensure that existing access is not overridden, use the create action.

  • To define access for an actor with no access in an organization unit, see Defining access for an actor with no organizational unit.
  • To view or create organization units by actor, click the By Actor tab.
  • To view or create organization units by access level, click the By Access Level tab.
  • To process updates, click the Automatic Updates tab.
  1. Select Administrator > Set Up > Actor Organization Unit > Actor Org Unit Levels Setup.
  2. Click the Actor Org Units tab.
  3. Click Define.
  4. Specify this information:
    Effective Date
    Select the effective date for this actor and organization relationship.
    Organization Unit
    Select the organization unit.

    The actor has access to all organization units that report up to this selected organization unit. For example, organization units 2, 3, and 4 can all report up to organization unit 1. If an actor is assigned access to organization unit 1, then they automatically have access to organization units 2, 3, and 4.

    Actor
    Select the actor for which you are creating this assignment.
  5. Click Save.
  6. Repeat these steps for more organization units. An actor can be assigned to multiple branches within an organization by creating an actor and organization unit relationship for each branch.
