Defining instructors

Instructors are the employees who are teaching the activities. Instructors must exist as resources in Infor HR Talent before they can be defined in Learning and Development.

  1. Select Learning and Development > Set Up > Add Resources > Instructor.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Specify this information:
    Effective Date

    Specify the effective date.

    Instructor

    Select the resource to define as an instructor.

    Note: To locate instructors with a specific relationship to the organization, you can filter on the Relationship To Organization field.
    Active

    Select the Active check box to make the instructor active. Inactive instructors are not displayed in lists.

    Full-Time

    Select this check box if the instructor is a full-time instructor. This can be important for costing.

    If the budget for full-time instructors is included in the overhead for internal Learning and Development organizations, it cannot also be included in the cost of activities and sessions. For part-time instructors, the salary costs related to Learning and Development should be included in the cost of activities and sessions.

    Instructor Description
    Provide Instructor description.
  4. Click Save.

    The system updates the Relationship To Organization field and the contact fields from the resource's record.
