Attaching visual groups and activities to development plans

Development plans consist of activities, which can be further organized into visual groups. Activities can be made avaialble to employees on a specified schedule. Activities and visual groups can be attached only when the development plan is in the proposed status, after the initial creation and before it is made active.
  1. Select Learning and Development > Catalog > Development Plans.
  2. On the Development Plans panel, open the plan to update.
  3. Select the Visual Groups and Activities tab.
  4. To create a visual group, click Create on the Visual Groups panel and specify this information:
    Visual Group
    Specify the visual group name. If left blank, the visual group ID is used.
    Description
    Provide the visual group description. If left blank, the visual group ID is used.
    Parent Development Plan Visual Group
    Select a parent visual group.
  5. Click Save.
  6. To attach activities to the development plan, click Create on the Activities panel and specify this information:

    Select the development plan visual group.
    Activity ID
    Required. Select the activity to attach.
    Display Sequence
    Specify the display sequence value for the activity.
    Mandatory or Elective
    Specify if the activity is mandatory or elective.
    Credits
    Specify the number of credits that are granted for completing the activity.
    Scheduled Content
    Select if the activity is available to employees immediately (after the development plan is made active) or select the availability in days, weeks, or month and specify the period length.
  7. Click Save.
