Synchronizing the LinkedIn Learning catalog

To perform this task, sign in as a learning administrator or as a content administrator.

Administrators use the synchronization process to import current LinkedIn Learning content to Learning and Development:

  • licensed course that are available in their Linked In Learning accounts
  • the current LinkedIn Learning course image
  • categories
  • continuing education credits

LinkedIn Learning course image. Learning administrators can preview courses once the synchronization is complete. Learning administrators can enroll and assign a resource to an activity. Administrators can synchronize content manually, and they can schedule periodic synchronizations.

The Sync LinkedIn Learning Catalog shows information about course synchronization:
  • New: courses that were created since the last sync
  • Updated: courses that were updated since the last sync
  • Retired: courses that are not active in LinkedIn
  1. Select Utilities > Bulk Actions > Sync LinkedIn Learning Catalog.
  2. Click Sync Catalog.
  3. Specify this information:
    Activity Type
    Specify the activity type in Learning and Development to which the LinkedIn Learning content is mapped. For example, if the content you are synchronizing is a course, specify Course.
  4. Click Submit. To schedule synchronizations, click Schedule and specify parameters.
  5. To download all courses from LinkedIn Learning again, click Redownload all courses. This is useful if the initial synchronization must be re-processed or to synchronize new metadata and apply it to courses.
  6. To monitor the progress of a catalog synchronization, log in as Async Administrator. On the Async Page, access the HCMContinuousDevelopmentActions queue. If the sync is successful, then all triggers indicate Finished. If an error occurs, then the status of all affected triggers is Terminated Abnormally.
