Designating beneficiaries by benefit plan

  1. Select Benefits > Maintenance > By Benefit Plan.
  2. Select a benefit plan.
  3. Open the current eligible employee record:
    1. Select the employee record on the Eligible tab.
    2. Click Open.
  4. Click the Beneficiaries tab.
  5. Select a beneficiary from the list of possible beneficiaries for the resource.
  6. Select whether this beneficiary is Primary or Contingent.

    The Primary beneficiary is the first person that a policy owner names to receive the proceeds from their insurance policy upon their death. Contingent beneficiaries are the people who are named to receive death benefits if the primary beneficiaries are deceased or unqualified.

  7. Select whether this beneficiary is entitled to a Percentage or a flat amount of death benefits.
  8. Specify the percentage or flat amount.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Repeat to designate more beneficiaries.

    To change Primary/Contingent or Percent/Amount, use the Change Designation action.

    To remove a beneficiary, clear the check box.
