Manually enrolling a COBRA participant

When you enroll a COBRA participant, the first enrollment rule is used for the event for which the individual meets the group criteria. The enrollment rules are evaluated in alphabetical order by benefit group code. You can manually create an enrollment for an individual using these steps.

  1. Select Benefits > Enrollment Events > COBRA Enrollments.
  2. Select an enrollment event.
  3. Click Create Enrollment.
  4. Specify this information:
    Participant ID

    Select the ID of the COBRA Participant. For any COBRA event other than an Open Enrollment, select whether to create a new COBRA Occurrence or select an existing Occurrence from the list.

    Extension Days

    Optionally, specify the number of days to be added to the end date of the enrollment period.

  5. Click OK.
