Designating beneficiaries by employee

  1. Select Benefits > Maintenance > By Employees.
  2. Select the employee.
  3. Open the current eligible benefit plan:
    1. Select the benefit plan on the Eligible tab.
    2. Click Open.
  4. Click the Beneficiaries tab.
  5. Select a beneficiary from the list of possible beneficiaries for the resource.
  6. Select whether the beneficiary is Primary or Contingent.

    The primary beneficiary is the first person that a policy owner names to receive the proceeds of their insurance policy upon their death. Contingent beneficiaries are the people named to receive death benefits if the primary beneficiaries are deceased or unqualified.

  7. Select whether this beneficiary is entitled to a Percentage or a flat amount of death benefits.
  8. Specify the percentage or flat amount.
  9. Click OK.
  10. Repeat to designate more beneficiaries.

    To change Primary/Contingent or Percent/Amount, use the Change Designation action.

    To remove a beneficiary, clear the check box.
