Creating cycle-based accrual tables

Use this procedure to define cycle-based tables for use in Accrual Rules.

  1. Select Absence Management > Set Up > Plans and Components > Tables.
  2. Click New.
  3. Specify this information:
    Absence Table
Specify a code for the absence table.
    Description
Specify a description for the absence table.
    Version Date
Specify a version date for the table. If you must change a value on the table, add a new version date to the table to preserve the historical table data. The processing date on the calculation programs determine what version of the table is used.
    Table Type
    Select Hours or Earnings.
    Rule type
    Select Accrual.
    Cycle Frequency
Specify the frequency for the cycle based table. The frequency determines how often accruals occur. It is used as a reference for the service level values in the From Cycle field. The From Cycle field is displayed when you save the initial table set up.
    Cycle Service Type
Select whether the From Cycle fields pertain to amounts within the Plan Type or Plan.

For example, if you select Plan Type, the length of service is the earliest Service Begin date on all Resource Plan records with the same plan type. If you select Plan, the length of service is the earliest Service Begin date on each specific Resource Plan record.

  4. Click Save.
  5. On the Absence Table Details tab, click New.
  6. Specify this information:
    From
Specify the start of the cycle range. Leave this field blank on the first record if accruals should begin from cycle zero. No length of service is required.
    Amount or Percent
Specify an amount or percent use in the table.
    • Amounts are added as flat accruals or can be added to a calculation or formula.
    • Percents are multiplied by a calculation or formula.
Note: Specify 50 percent as 50.0000.
    Formula
Specify a formula to be used by the table. If an amount or percent is specified, it is applied to the result of the formula. The types of formulas that can be used on a cycle based accrual table are:
    • Cycle amount formula
    • Ratio formula
    • Date formula

A line can have either a formula or a calculation, not both.

    Calculation
Specify a calculation to be used by the table. If an amount or percent is specified, it is applied to the result of the calculation.
    Maximum
Specify the maximum value for the combined result of the amount, percent, formula, or calculation.
  7. Click Save.
