Beginning a leave of absence

When a resource goes on leave, the Begin Leave action changes the record status to On Leave. A leave record must be in an Approved status to be changed to On Leave. Only administrators and resource managers can perform the Begin Leave action.

When a leave status is On Leave:

  • The resource can only view the list details.
  • The manager can only view the list details and complete the leave when the resource returns.
  • The Absence administrator can update the leave details and change the leave status to any status.
  1. Select Absence Management > Maintain Absences > Leaves of Absence.
  2. Select the Approved tab.
  3. Select a leave request from the list and click Begin Leave.
