Creating reason codes

Use this procedure to define reason codes to indicate which plan balance is decreased.

  1. Select Absence Management > Set Up > Codes and Classes > Reason.
  2. On the Codes tab, click New.
  3. Specify this information:
    Reason Code
    Specify a reason code.
    Description
    Specify a description for the reason code.
    Reason Type
    Select whether the reason code identifies an absence type event that should be included in absence tracking reports.
    Plan Balance
    Select which, if any, type of plan balance are updated by events that have this reason code.
    Service Code
    Specify a default service code to be associated with this reason code.
    Points
    If a point system is used for attendance tracking, specify the number of points that are associated with an absence/resource event that has this reason code. This is used as the default value when service records are created, but it can be overridden.
  4. Click Save.
