App Metadata Transport

The App Metadata Transport form is used to export or import metadata for:

  • IDOs
  • Property classes
  • Custom assemblies
  • The Application Events System (AES)
  • Replication documents
  • Critical numbers
  • DataViews
  • Form Extensions

This form is created for instances where the App Metadata Transport stand-alone utility cannot be run due to security concerns.

This form works by:

  • Exporting the metadata from a source database to an XML file; or
  • Importing the metadata from an XML file to a target database.
