Access/Default Access

This field allows you to determine how the variable value is to be displayed and treated in event messages. Select from the drop-down list from among the following options:

Option	Description
Default	For a Notify action, this is equivalent to Read-Only. For a Prompt action, this is equivalent to Writable.
Hidden	This option causes the variable value to not be displayed in event messages. This effectively makes it invisible.
Read-Only	This option causes the variable value to be visible in event messages, but does not allow it to be changed.
Writable	This option causes the variable value to be visible in event messages and also allows recipients to change it before responding to the message. This option is only available with Prompt type actions.
Mandatory	This option causes the variable value to be visible in event messages and also requires recipient to set it to some value when responding. This option is only available with Prompt type actions.

Use the Event Variable Groups form to set the defaults for event variables.

On the Event Actions form, this field setting overrides any setting made for the variable on the Event Variable Groups form. See the About Event Variables and Initial States topic.
