Labor and material transactions overview

The Shop Floor functionality can be used to perform labor and material transaction. Scanners can be used to input data for all the labor and material transactions.

The two primary navigation forms from which employees can access labor and material transaction forms:

  • Work Center Navigation Home: This form provides links to all labor and material transaction forms.
  • Work Center: This form is used to perform labor transactions only. This form provides a list of available and active jobs and allows employees at a work center to perform labor transactions for a selected job. The employee can either open the relevant transaction form, with the job information defaulted, or can execute the transaction directly from the Work Center form.

These two new validations are added on the Shop Floor Control Parameters form which allows the user to check if the Job Operation is eligible to complete or the Job Order is eligible to close:

  • BOM item issue status validation: This new validation can be added for both Completed Qty and Scrapped Qty fields to check if the sufficient BOM item(s) has been issued to meet the cumulative quantity completed (current complete quantity + quantity that has been already reported) and scrapped quantity (current scraped quantity + scrapped quantity at operation). If the quantity issued is not sufficient to report current quantities, the application displays an error message.
  • Reported quantity validation: This new validation can be added for Good Qty. If the cumulative quantity completed and scrapped is less than the released quantity, an error message is displayed.

The possible values for Perform Additional Validations parameter:

  • Prompt: The application performs the validation. If the validation fails, a warning message is displayed.
  • Always: The application performs the validation. If the validation fails, a warning message is displayed, and you are unable to proceed further.
  • Never: The application does not check for the completed quantities, close job and report quantities. The Operation Complete and Close Job check boxes are enabled based on the transactional parameter settings.

Validation can be performed for these transactions:

  • Job Move
  • End Run
  • End Team Run
  • Quantity enter (Workset quantity reporting form)
  • WIP Move
  • Dashboard transaction
  • Real time entry
  • WM labor reporting
  • End Run Only
  • Team member reporting
Note: To implement this functionality, the (RS8953) feature must be enabled on the Feature Management form.

Infor Factory Track allows the user to complete the job operation and/or close the job for these transactions:

  • Job Move
  • End Run
  • End Run Only
  • End Machine
  • End Team Run
  • Workset Maintenance

When the Complete Operation and/or Close Job options are selected, Infor Factory Track validates to ensure no active transactions are in conflict. The user can refresh the view to check the updated conflicts and process the transaction after the conflict has been resolved. The details of the active transactions are displayed on the Active Labor Transactions tab.

Note: To implement this functionality, the (RS8985) feature must be enabled on the Feature Management form.
