Moving items to the next operation

To report job operation quantity and move to next operation for transactions that are not final operations:

  1. Select Production > WIP Move. The WIP Move form is displayed.
    Note: To access this form, you can also select Icon Menu > Make It > WIP Move.
  2. Specify or review this information:
    Whse
    The code of the warehouse. The warehouse linked to your username are displayed.
    Job
    The job number.
    Suffix
    The suffix number associated with the job.
    Operation
    The operation to be completed.
    Item
    The code of the item to be moved.
    Note: The item description and unit of measure are displayed. The item number and description are displayed. This field can be modified, if the Job Output Type is set to Co-product.
    Document
    The document number. This field is displayed only if the Document Number in Use parameter is selected for this transaction.
    Opn Qty/UOM
    The required quantity to be completed and the unit of measure.
    Completed
    The completed quantity.
    Move
    The quantity to be moved to the next operation. This field is displayed only if the Enable Move parameter is selected for this transaction.
    Rejected
    The rejected quantity.
    Reason
    The reason code for the rejection.
  3. Click Next.
    The application runs a validation to check if the item is a valid co-product mix of the job suffix selected. The first item of the co product mix is defaulted for the same. The job number with the list of items are displayed.
  4. Specify or review this information:
    Xref
    The cross-referenced order. This field is displayed only if the specified job is cross referenced with another order. When completed items are reported for the last operation of the specified job, the items are reserved for the cross-referenced order.
    To Cont
    Indicate if the items must be placed in a container.
    Container
    The container number. This field is displayed only if the To Cont field is set to Yes.
    Lot
    The lot number. This value is defaulted if the order has pre-assigned lot numbers.
    Complete Operation
    Indicate if the operation is completed. This check box is displayed only if the Complete Operation is selected for this transaction.
    Close Job
    Select this check box if you are completing the last operation of the job. This check box is displayed only if the Close Job check box is selected for this transaction.
    Whse
    The warehouse to issue the completed material. This field is displayed only for the last job operation.
    Location
    The put away location for the completed items.
    Issue to Parent
    Select this check box to issue completed items from the sub-assembly job to the parent job. This field is displayed only if:
    • The Prompt for issue to Parent Job parameter is selected for this transaction
    • The parent job is set as the destination for the completed items
    • This is last operation for this sub-assembly job
  5. Click Next.
    This option is displayed only if the selected item is serial-controlled. You must scan or select the serial number for each item, in the Serial field. The Scanned field displays the count of the serial numbers you have scanned. You can also click Show List to view the available serial numbers, or click Clear List to clear all the scanned serial numbers.
  6. Click Process after scanning the required quantity of serial numbers.
    Note: 
    • The application prints the labels if the transaction is configured to print labels automatically. Else, the Label Printing screen is displayed wherein you can specify the required details. See Printing Labels.
    • If the Allow Cross-Docking parameter is selected for this transaction, the order is not cross-referenced to another order, and you must confirm if the receipt must be cross docked. See Cross Docking Items.
