Print Options dialog box

Use this dialog box to print the information displayed in the current record or the current collection.

This table lists the elements of this dialog box and explains their use.

Element Function/Comments
Current field data Select this field when you only want to print values for a single record.

When you select this option, the system defaults to the record in which you have placed the cursor.

Collection properties Select this field when you want to print values for the entire collection.
Sort alphabetically Sorts the fields and properties in the Select Fields/Properties list alphabetically.
Report Type Select Tabular or Columnar to determine how the report is displayed.
Select Fields/Properties Select a list of all fields and properties to be printed.

Select fields and properties that you want to include in the printout. .

You can also rearrange the order in which the included fields and properties print, using the Up and Down buttons.

Shade alternate detail lines When selected, the system places a light gray background behind alternate records in the output.

This can make it easier to use the printout.

Print header on every page When selected, causes the header row to print on every page, if there are multiple pages in the output.

This can be especially helpful when printing large collections of records.

Font Button Opens the standard Windows Font dialog box, which allows you to change the font family, style, and size.
Page Setup Button Opens the Page Setup dialog box, in which you can make various settings for formatting the printed output.

There are two ways to open this dialog box:

  • Select Form > Print or Form > Print Preview.
  • With focus on the record or collection, press CTRL+P.
