FormSync, Filter tab

The Filter tab contains these fields and options.

Fields and options Description/Comments
Configuration From the drop-down list, indicate whether you want to view the name of the Source or the Target configuration.

The read-only field next to the drop-down list indicates what configurations are currently selected. To change your selections, click the Configurations button.

Select a configuration containing the forms database from which you want to retrieve custom objects.

To copy objects, delete objects, or generate a SQL script that defines objects, select Source. You can save a list of custom objects from either the Source or the Target configuration. For additional requirements, see About Source and Target Configuration Selection.

Configurations (button) To specify the Source and Target configurations for the intended actions, click this button. This opens the Configurations page, where you can make your selections. When you click OK on that page, you are returned to this page, which now displays your selected configurations.
Scope Type Select the scope for the objects you want to work with. To select all types, leave the field blank.

If you select Group or User, a second drop-down list displays, where you can specify the group or user whose objects you want to work with. If you do not specify either the group or the user with these options, then FormSync processes all objects with that scope type.

Group This field is enabled only when you select a Scope Type of Group.

To retrieve custom objects with Group scope for:

  • All groups, leave the field blank.
  • A single group, select a group name from the list.
  • Multiple groups with similar names, use the percent sign (%) as a wildcard character.

For example, to select all groups whose names begin with AP, enter AP%.

User This field is enabled only when you select a Scope Type of User.

To select custom objects with User scope for:

  • All users, leave this field blank.
  • A single user, select a user name from the list.
  • Multiple users with similar names, you can use the percent sign (%) as a wildcard character.

For example, to select all users whose names contain "admin", enter %admin%.

Refresh list After making your choices in the other fields and options, click this button to query the forms database and display the list of objects that meet the specified criteria in the Custom Objects grid.
Only items which reference global objects When selected, any query in a utility that uses this filter returns results only from items that reference global objects. This applies to forms, property class extensions, global scripts, and validators. What is returned is the selected object and any object that it references.

When this check box is cleared, all forms and objects can be selected.

Expand wild card choice When selected, any SQL wild card expression can be used.

If this check box is cleared, all characters in a selection are treated for an exact match.

List of object types and names Select the types of objects you want to include in your actions. By default, all types and objects are selected.

For any given object type, you can specify single or multiple objects within that type, using the drop-down list. To select:

  • All objects, leave this field blank.
  • A single object, select an object from the list.
  • Multiple objects with similar names, you can use the percent sign (%) as a wildcard character.

For example, to select all objects whose names contain "payroll", enter %payroll%.

Note:  This field is not case-sensitive.
