External

Select this check box to designate the intranet as an external intranet, meaning that it allows applications other than those based on Mongoose.

This option allows you to set up data exchanges between this application's sites and certain external applications. There should be one external intranet for each different type of external application.

After you create an external intranet, you can define "sites" (on the Sites or Sites/Entities form) to represent instances of the external application. These sites must be on the external intranet. You then create replication rules between your application's sites and the external sites. The replication system can then dispatch XML documents from your application's sites to the external application, using the protocol and connection information specified for the intranet.

Replication done on an external intranet must be asynchronous (non-transactional), and an external intranet cannot have a master site.

Note:  An external intranet cannot use the multi-site shared tables feature. Also, the TaskMan Path is not required for an external intranet.

When you select this check box, the system enables the Transport field.
