Form Attributes Tab, Merge Options

Settings on this tab control how attributes of customized forms are handled in the synchronization process. You can retain customized attributes or replace them.

  • To retain the customized version on the merged form in the Target configuration, select the check box for an attribute, such as Data source.
    • To have Form Sync prompt you about whether to keep each customized version of the attribute or to replace it with the base version from the Source configuration, select the Prompt check box for the attribute.
    • To retain customized versions automatically without prompting, clear the Prompt check box for the attribute.
  • To have Form Sync replace the customized version of the attribute with the base version from the Source configuration, clear the check box for an attribute.

    When this option is selected, replacements occur automatically without prompting.

Default Settings

By default, check boxes for all attributes are selected so that all customized attributes are retained on the merged version of the customized form in the Target configuration.

By default, Prompt check boxes for Basic form attributes are cleared so that customized versions of these attributes are retained automatically on the merged form in the Target configuration. Basic form attributes are those that can be customized by users with Basic editing permission. Customizations to these attributes normally do not affect a form's functionality.

Prompt check boxes for all Major form attributes are selected so that you are prompted about whether to keep or replace customized versions of the attributes on the merged form in the Target configuration. Major form attributes can be customized by users with Full User or Site Developer editing permission.
