Warning Developers about Overwrites

If you make and save changes to a form or global object that is not checked out (to you or anyone else), your changes will be overwritten the next time anyone checks that object out. To help prevent this from happening, you can specify a setting in Windows client to warn developers, when they open a form in Design Mode, that the form is locked.

To specify this setting, select View > User Preferences. Click the Design Time tab, and then select Enforce strict locking of forms and global objects.

This setting applies only to users with Vendor Developer or Site Developer editing permissions.
