Count Transaction

You can use the Count transaction to report physical inventory.

See Configuring Count Transaction Parameters, for more information about customizing this transaction.

This transaction is comprises of these screens:

To open the Count transaction, select a transaction profile associated with the Count transaction from the main menu.

Note:  Any time you are scanning an item number, you have the option of scanning an item alias number instead.

Search Phys Inv screen

Use this screen to select a physical inventory record to count. Physical inventories that contain one or more uncounted lines with a recount number of 0 are listed. The list is sorted by the date the physical inventories are scheduled to be counted.

List Phys Inv screen

Use this screen to select a physical inventory record to count. Physical inventories that contain one or more uncounted lines with a recount number of 0 are listed. The list is sorted by the date the physical inventories are scheduled to be counted.

Search Phys Inv Line screen

Use this screen to search for inventory lines to count, report a location as empty or scan item to create a new line.

If the location is confirmed, a new phys inv line can be added in these ways:

  • Scan an item in the search field. If the search does not return any results, the Report Phys Inv Line screen is displayed with Location and Item confirmed and all other input fields blank and open for input. If lot and/or container filter fields were populated when search was triggered, these fields are to be confirmed in the report screen.
  • Confirm item in the item input field. If applicable, confirm lot and/or container. Select Next. A search is performed for open lines matching the filters. If there is no match, the Report Phys Inv Line screen is displayed with the filter data input fields confirmed and all other input fields blank and open for input.

Set list options that should be available to access via function buttons. For each list option set the line statuses to include.

If this parameter includes A, the List Rep function is available and displays the List Phys Inv screen to list lines with selected statuses. For example, “A=123” include lines with statuses 1, 2 and 3.

If this parameter includes B, the List Pend function is available and displays the List Phys Inv screen to list lines with selected statuses. For example, “B=0” include lines with status 0.

If this parameter includes C, the List All function is available and displays the List Phys Inv screen to list lines with selected statuses. For example, “C=0123” include lines with statuses 0,1, 2 and 3 (all available statuses).

If data is already confirmed in one of the filter fields, the data is not used in the search. Example: Item X is confirmed in the item filter field and data Y is scanned in the search field. There is no search for item even if item is part of the search sequence).

  • When the Location is not yet confirmed: This parameter is defaulted to “1” (Location only)
  • Location input field must be confirmed first before searching using other data in the search field.
  • Scanning a Location in the search field populates the Location input field (if Location is part of the search sequence).

  • Location is used as search criteria similar to the other tokens (item/lot/cont)
  • Location input field can be blank when searching in the search field.

List Phys Inv Line screen

Use this screen to select a physical inventory line to count. The lines displayed on this screen reflect the results of the search performed on the Search Phys Inv Line screen.

Set alternative label for extra field.

Format: N=X;N=X;N=X where N = field number, X = new label, set to *BLANK to display info without label.

Label (X) is in upper case by default. Use prefix “^” to use lower case with first character in each word in upper case. For example, “N=ABC DE” is displayed as “ABC DE” in the device. “N=^ABC DE” is displayed as “Abc De”.

Use this screen to report a count for a physical inventory line.

If set to 1 or 2, the Scan to Count transaction can be set using the "1:X" format. In this format, X is considered as Scan to Count profile ID.

Scan to count is not available if No of Pkgs, Qty / Pkg and Total Qty fields are displayed.

Scan to count is not available if Item is blank and is confirmed if Add Line function is used on the Search Phys Inv Line screen.

This parameter is not applicable for sublot items when sublot reporting is active
