Performing a manual replication operation

To manually synchronize your database either with another site in your system or in the Data Lake, manually configure and launch a replication process.

Caution: 
Do not perform manual replication on the Site Administration replication category, unless specifically directed by Infor Support. Doing so can have adverse effects on the site or entity hierarchy.
  1. Open the Manual Replication Utility form.
  2. Create a new record.
  3. Specify either the Site or the Multi-Site Group for the target of the data.
    • To replicate the data from a single site, select the site where the source data exists.
    • To replicate the data from a group of sites, select the multi-site group.
  4. Specify the data to be replicated:
    Category
    Select the type of data to be replicated.
    Table Name
    • To replicate data from a single table, select the table that contains the data to be replicated.
    • To replicate data from all tables, leave this field blank.
    Create Date
    Optionally, to include tables created on or after a particular date, select the earliest date to include.
    Modified Date
    Optionally, to include all records created or modified on or after a particular date, select the earliest date to include.
    Batch Size
    Optionally, specify the number of records to be replicated in each batch.

    This setting is used to limit the number of records to be replicated in each set. This setting can be very helpful especially when replicating large quantities of data.

    Note: We recommend that you leave this setting at the default value of 1000.
    Local Site Data Only
    To replicate only the data from the current local site, select this check box.
    Run As Background Task
    If you are replicating a very large amount of data and do not want to wait around for the operation to complete, we recommend that you select this check box.

    If you are replicating only a relatively small amount of data, and can afford to wait while it processes, you can leave this check box cleared.

    Note: Before starting the actual transfer of data, the Manual Replication Utility does a check of the number of records to be included in the operation. If that is a large amount of data, the utility prompts you to confirm that you do not, in fact, want to run the operation as a background task.
    Suspended
    To pause the manual replication operation before it is finished, select this check box.

    During the replication process, the Manual Replication Utility checks this setting periodically, and if or when it detects that the Suspend setting has been selected, it suspends the operation. Only when this option has been cleared does the operation continue, picking up where it left off.

    To resume the operation, clear this check box and then relaunch the process.

  5. Save the record.
    Note: You cannot launch the replication process until you save your new process definition. When you save the record, the Manual Replication Utility assigns a generated Process ID to the process, and the Replicate button is enabled.
  6. Click Replicate.

The Manual Replication Utility checks for the number of records to be processed. If it detects a large number of records to be processed and you did not select the Run As Background Task check box, you might be prompted to confirm that you do not want to run the operation as a background task. The utility also prompts you to confirm that you want to proceed with the operation.

If you selected the Run As Background Task check box, the Manual Replication Utility places the process on the background task queue. If you cleared the Run As Background Task check box, the Manual Replication Utility runs the replication task immediately and updates the Manual Replication Progress fields accordingly.

To check the progress of the operation, you can refresh the Manual Replication Utility form, or you can check the process entry on the Background Task History form.
