Transport

This option allows you to select either of these options as the transport protocol for exchanging data with external systems or applications:

Note: This field is enabled only when the External check box is selected.
  • HTTP (Hyper-Text Transfer Protocol) is the protocol most commonly used to transfer data across the Internet. This is the default option and is used for most intranet transactions.
  • ESB is used to integrate with applications by one of these means:
    • XML documents, using the Infor Business Object Document (BOD) model.
    • Infor Management Service (IMS), using JSON-based transactions and the Data Lake.
Select ESB only if the system with which you are trying to integrate requires one of these models for communication.

Regardless of the option you choose, when you select your option, the system enables some other fields on the General tab and disables others.

To exchange data between these areas: Use this option:
Sites in a multi-site system using a Mongoose-based application HTTP
This application and applications that interface via XMLs using Infor BOD format ESB
This application applications that interface via Infor Managed Services (IMS) ESB
This application and Infor SunSystems HTTP
This application and external financial systems (EXTFIN interfaces) HTTP
This application and other external systems Whichever is required by the other system
