Receiving Items Into Containers

When using the Receipts transaction, you can receive items into containers by assigning handling units to those items from within that transaction. For instructions on receiving items using the Receipts transaction, see Receiving Items.

  1. After submitting the quantity of items to receive, specify Yes in the Enter HU field.
  2. Specify or review this information:
    Item Number
    The item number is displayed.
    Package Definition
    Optionally, specify a package definition.
    Handling Unit
    To assign the items to an existing handling unit, specify the handling unit. Optionally, leave blank to create a new handling unit.
    Link to Parent HU?
    Specify whether to assign a parent to the handling unit.
  3. If you specify Yes, specify the parent handling unit in the Parent HU field. Optionally, leave the Parent HU field blank to create a new handling unit.
  4. If prompted, specify a putaway location in the Actual Location field.
