Visual SourceSafe File Names

If you are using Visual SourceSafe as your source control tool, you should be aware of the file naming requirements discussed in this topic. In naming Visual SourceSafe (VSS) files, FormControl replaces some characters with two-letter strings as described in this table:

Form Control applies naming conventions when an object is checked out and checked back in. Existing VSS files whose names contain the special characters are not affected. You can remove any such files manually.

The naming convention is applied for compatibility with Visual SourceSafe version 6.0d and affects Form Control versions 5.00.02 and later, 4.03.18, and 4.02.12.
