Removing items from a container

Use this transaction to remove items from a container, add items to another container or designate the items as loose inventory.

  1. Select Handling Unit > Split Handling Unit. The Split Handling Unit screen is displayed.
  2. Specify this information:
    Handling Unit
    The handling unit associated with the shipment.
    Whse
    The warehouse in which the handling unit is created.
    Loc
    The location of the warehouse.
    Item
    The code and description of the item.
    Lot
    The lot number assigned to the item.
    Inv Date
    The date on which items are added to the inventory.
    Note: This field is displayed only if the item is date controlled.
    Serial Number
    The serial number.
    Open Quantity
    The quantity that must be assigned with serial or lot numbers.
    Qty
    The quantity assigned with the specified lot number.
    Add to Another HU
    Indicate if the item can be added to another handling unit. Possible values:
    • Yes: You can add the item to a Parent HU. You must specify an existing parent handling unit.
    • No: You can designate the items as part of loose inventory.
  3. Click Process to remove the specified items from the handling unit.
    Note: If the Add to Another HU field is set to Yes, the items are added to the specified parent handling unit. If this field is set to No, the items are designated as loose inventory.
