Returning items from staging
Use this transaction to return items from the staging area to inventory when a shipment is canceled or modified.
- Select Outbound Transactions > Return From Staging. The Return From Staging screen is displayed.
- Specify this information:
- Warehouse
- The warehouse from which items are returned.
- Stage Location
- The stage location from which items are returned.
- Handling Unit
- The handling unit associated with the items to be returned.
- Item Number

The code of the item to be returned.
Note: This value is populated when returning an item using Handling Unit.
- Serial Number

The scanned serial number of the item which is using a single serial-in-inventory.
Note:
- This value is populated when returning an item using Handling Unit.
- This field is displayed if the item is serial-in inventory controlled.
- Lot Number

The scanned lot number of the item.
Note:
- This value is populated when returning an item using Handling Unit.
- This field is displayed if the item is lot-in inventory controlled.
- Inventory Date

The date on which the item is returned.
- This value is populated when returning an item using Handling Unit.
- This field is displayed if the item is date controlled.
- Free Quantity
- The staged quantity that is available to be returned.
- Quantity

The quantity of items returned to the inventory.
Note: This field is not displayed when item is returned using Handling Unit.
- To Location

The location to which the items are returned.
Note: The files are displayed based on the parameter settings on the Transaction Set Maintenance form (web application) for the Returning From Staging transaction.
- Click Next to process the return and move the items from the staging location back to the specified inventory location. A success or failure message is displayed.
